The Transition Tapes returns for a second season with a special episode exploring SFDR 2.0, the proposed revision of the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).
In this episode, Andreas Hoepner, Professor of Operational Risk, Banking & Finance at University College Dublin’s Smurfit Graduate Business School and a member of the EU Platform on Sustainable Finance in his personal capacity, joins the podcast to discuss the evolution of SFDR and the key questions surrounding its revision.
Introduced to improve transparency in sustainable finance, tackle greenwashing and support investment flows towards the EU’s sustainability objectives, SFDR has faced challenges in its implementation. The proposed revision aims to address some of these shortcomings, raising important questions about how the framework should evolve.
The conversation explores the main limitations of SFDR 1.0, the proposed changes under SFDR 2.0 and its new categories – ESG Basics, Sustainable and Transition. It also examines the key issues likely to shape the EU trilogue negotiations and whether the revised framework can deliver on its original objectives.
Tune in to hear Andreas’s insights on the future of sustainable finance disclosure in the EU, alongside a glimpse into the music he listens to while running.
