What we do

ISFC is an independent, apolitical and non-doctrinal research think tank focused on solving sustainable finance issues. We support and enable others to leverage finance for positive impact.

We help financial institutions, businesses, and policymakers navigate and benefit from the transition to a more sustainable and just economy.

We do this by acting as a knowledge brokerage, delivering credible, evidence-based insights that support informed, forward-looking discussions and decisions. We help to build strong internal ecosystems and capacities, advising on communicating and managing change.

ISFC is built on three core pillars

  • We conduct in-depth, original research to inform regional debates and policymaking. Our work focuses on ESG integration, sustainable investing, sustainable finance policy and regulation, sustainable banking, industry decarbonisation, and real estate. The focus areas are determined by our expertise, access to key stakeholders, and the existence of most pressing issues, or knowledge/ capacity gaps.

  • We act as a truster partner and brokerage, creating spaces for diverse stakeholders to collaborate and find solutions to issues that prevent sustainable finance in practice. Through conferences, KPI-based roundtables, and expert deep dives, we connect the different parts of the system to explore best practices and spark new cooperation.

  • We deliver tailored training, practical workshops, guest lectures, executive education, and curriculum design on key sustainable finance topics. Our programmes support financial institutions, public bodies, and academic institutions in building the knowledge and skills needed to lead the transition.
